Cameron Harmon currently isn’t on many radars as a potential to loosen Austin Perkins' current stranglehold on the 74kg (163.14lbs)/75kg (165.35lbs) weight class. After over a year of not competing (his last meet was in 2022 at the USAPL Southeast Regional Champs), Cameron made an appearance with a season-opening at the 2024 USAPL Shamrock Showdown, where he finished with a total of 770kg/1697.56lbs, a progression of 1.32%, in parallel to his previous competition best total of 760kg/1675.51lbs.
During the meet, Cameron experienced a setback in his squat, scoring a reliability of 83.33%, which is 8.34% lower than his historical squat reliability of 91.67%. Due to failing both his first squat attempt of 270kg/595.25lbs and a second squat attempt of 277.5kg/611.78lbs - this was the first time he had failed a squat attempt twice at a meet. Cameron only achieved 96.47% of his baseline projections (squat, bench, deadlift, and total), which is not his best performance.
Despite not competing for over a year, theoretically, the athlete still remains a highly probable athlete to wage a significant challenge at the highest level of competition.
