The 66kg/67.5kg weight class is getting even more competitive
Charlie Yeng has been competing since 2016. He started as a lighter athlete in the 59kg (130.07lbs)/60kg (132.28lbs) category at the Central Texas Classic. In 2019, he won the 59kg (130.07lbs)/60kg (132.28lbs) open and junior national championship at the USAPL Raw Nationals. At the 2024 Powerlifting America National Trials, he competed for the sixth time as a 66kg/67.5kg athlete against competitors such as Jonathan Garcia, who won the 2022 Powerlifting America national championship and the 2022 IPF World Classic silver medal. Charlie finished the national trials with a new personal record (PR) total of 705kg/1554.26lbs, an increase of 0.35%, placing him second behind Jonathan Garcia.
